The tender and sweet love between animal mothers and their babies is one of the most sacred scenes I have ever witnessed. Wherever the momma goes, the baby follows her, looking for warmth, protection, and love. It wasn’t until I had my kids that I could comprehend the adoring and nurturing love our mothers feel for us on a profound level. Wildlife photography captures the interaction between animal moms and their babies. I had failed to get a long-focus lens. I saw a mama bear and her three cubs last year in Yellowstone National Park. I didn’t get good pictures because I was too far away from them.
Nonetheless, it was a beautiful scene, the four of them playing carelessly in the forest. It quickly became a show. Many photographers stood ready to get a good shot. I am glad they were respectful and didn’t try to get close to them. We must respect and protect animals. We’re in their environment, so we need to behave.
I rode horses a few times when I was a little child, and I fell in love with them. In Utah, there are many wild horses. They aren’t too far away from the city. I went to photograph them a couple of years ago. I wanted to bring them all with me. They are big, fast, and beautiful. I captured the mom and baby bonding and playing.
I haven’t been able to hug my babies since December 3rd because of covid restriction. I have been in two hospitals since that day, and today is the 28th. I got covid-19, and it triggered Guillain-Barre Syndrome. My arms miss Liam’s snuggly body and my talks with Christopher.
I wished I could go through the glass, kid of a superpower, and hug them so tight they would tell me to stop and then kiss them.

Wow, your photos are so beautiful! If you get the chance to spot a mother and baby in the wild it is a truly special moment. You can see the mother’s emotions towards her baby, and as long as we don’t get too close to make the mother feel threatened it is one of the rawest forms of nature that your photos truly depict. Amazing!
Wow, you have been through a lot. I hope the Guillian Barre is resolving and lasting effects are minimal or none. I have not seen the wild horses in Utah but have seen them in Wyoming and it was awesome!
I could look at photos of wildlife photography every day. And these are exceptional – I adore the story being told and captured here. The field with the horses and the baby hugging it’s mother is so moving, especially (as you pointed out) in the current climate.
Stunning pictures, Francia! I also enjoy watching mother and baby animals together. You can sense the unconditional love of the mother as she makes sure all her babies’ needs are met before she thinks of hers. You just don’t want to come too close to them though, as mothers can be very aggressive when protecting their youngs.

I love wildlife photography, and on all of my trips, I plan with wildlife photo opportunities. Especially it’s an amazing experience when it is possible to capture motherhood. Your photos are great! The horses are fabulous! Also bison!. Cubs in Yellowstone National Park is on my bucket photo list.
